Engineering students can change their branch in B.Tech engineering after completing the first year of their program. For that, they need to pass the 1st and 2nd semester exams on the first attempt. And should get a good CGAP above 8.0.
But the final decision to approve the branch change request depends on the availability of seats, and the college’s rules and regulations.
If two students apply for a branch change at the same time, the student with the higher score will be awarded the seat.
To change the branch, students need to pay a non-refundable fee of 500 to 1000 Rs, depending on the college.
After changing to the new branch, students cannot go back to the old branch.
