How to Write SBI Bank Account Transfer Request Letter

  1. Decide to which branch you want to transfer your account depending on your convenience.
  2. Now you have two options, you can apply for transfer of branch either online or offline. For offline process you have to write a request letter to the bank.
  3. Address the request letter to the bank manager.
  4. Write your name, and bank account number on the request letter.
  5. Write the branch to which you want to transfer your bank account.
  6. If possible mention the reason for transferring your account.
  7. Keep transfer request letter as simple as possible.

How to Transfer My SBI Account in SBI Internet Banking Portal

Step 1: Login in your SBI internet bank dashboard with your user id and password.

Step 2: Now go to e Services in the menu bar.

Step 3: click on transfer of savings account.

Step 4: Now click on the branch name and select the branch to which you want to transfer your account. After selecting the branch the branch code and name will be automatically shown.

Step 5: Tick the terms and conditions box and click on submit.

Step 6: Now click on confirm, and an OTP will be sent to you registered mobile number.

Step 7: Now enter that OTP and submit your request.  (Within 7 days your account will be transferred to new branch)

How do I know whether my SBI bank account transferred or not

You can see the branch name of your bank immediately after login in your SBI internet banking portal under account details.

If you don’t have internet banking then you have to visit your new branch to get an updated bank passbook.

Only IFSC code will change. Remaining details like your bank account number and CIF number.

Yes, you can have multiple SBI accounts, but all those account numbers must be under one CIF number ( Customer Information File).

Apply for a new bank passbook in your new SBI branch and update your new IFSC code in all transactions wherever it is required.
