IRCTC Ticket Transfer Rules
- The confirmed tickets can be transferred to any of the family members of a person such as father, mother, husband, wife, son, daughter, brother, or sister. Requests should be made at least 24 hours before the scheduled departure of the train.
- To another government servant traveling on the duty. Requests should be made at least 24 hours before the scheduled departure of the train.
- Tickets can also be transferred in between students of some recognized educational institutions. For this, the request should be made by the principal or head at least 48 hours before the scheduled departure of the train.
- Other members of a marriage party, if the request is made by the head of the marriage party at least 48 hours before the scheduled departure of the train.
- To other cadets of NCC (National Cadet Corps) if the request is made by the head of the group at least 24 hours before the scheduled departure of the train.
(The changes can be made only once, and the total percentage should not exceed 10% of the total group members)

No, there is no online facility so far, you have to submit a request letter to the reservation officer at some authorized railway stations.
